The service focused on a sermon titled “Follow the Way,” and included scripture readings from Proverbs and John, worship through dance celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and communion.

The sermon emphasis was that Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life,” teaching that following Christ is relational and mutlicultural rather than directional, and requires active participation through prayer and service.

The service also marked the introduction of new pastor Rev.  Tammi Brantley (who takes on the pastoral appointment July 1), who delivered a welcoming message. Following service in true Oxon Hill fashion, we joined together at fellowship for a celebratory multicultural welcome meal complete with dancing!
